About me
Heidi Hansel has been teaching accounting at Kirkwood Community College for more than 30 years. She is currently a Professor and Program Coordinator for the Accounting program. Heidi is a dedicated educator who is passionate about helping students connect classroom learning to real-world business applications. She holds an undergraduate degree in Accounting, master’s degrees in Business and Accounting, and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies, all from Iowa State University. In addition to teaching, Heidi has served in various leadership roles at the college, including Director of Institutional Research, and continues to contribute to curriculum development, assessment, and student success initiatives.
